"Who Took the Life of the Decapitated Gentleman once so Afraid of Death that He Tried to Cheat It (with Obvious Failure) ?" (the full and silly title of the game, which Construct Arcade won't let me register for obvious reasons) is a short narrative puzzle, in which you play around with four dead gentlemen's heads.

Stored in a cabinet of curiosities, the heads are sleeping. To wake them up, put two of them next to each other in one of the two shelves available, and listen to their conversations. They might be bored, but precious elements will be revealed, in order to answer the dramatic question - which is also the title of the game : Who Took the Life of the Decapitated Gentleman Once So Afraid of Death That He Tried To Cheat It (With Obvious Failure) ? But look out : the heads might not stay intact forever...

In this game, which plays as an interactive short story, words are your best ally. The game is meant to blend writing and narrative design altogether : start with understanding the title of the game - which is in itself a puzzle -, and look out for clues in each conversations !

Fully hand-drawn in black and white, the game features music from Chopin and Debussy.

Instructions

To engage two heads into a conversation, drag and drop them in two arch displays next to each other, either on the "Greek Mythology & Philosophy" shelf or on the "Botany of the World" one.

Then, press SPACE to go through the dialogues.

When you think you have the answer to the question, put your mouse over the question box and type in the name of the culprit.
