The game is a single player space exploration game, more of an RPG than a space sim. It includes ship design, alien race diplomacy, exploration, quests and combat. You use the standard wasd keys to move, mouse to fire and q g and i keys for shields grapples and information. There is plenty to do and explore in this version, but it does not yet contain a victory condition.
