Explore dynamically generated chambers for any visual artwork theme. The Dynamic Dungeons™ (sku: ARDD) is an in-game module (IGM) for all Role-Playing Games (RPG). The IGM demonstration has a default grid size of 4x4; however, you can grow its grid to any size! Think of it -- having 1,000 x 1,000 chambers using only 1 layout and one small event sheet. It is not restricted to "4-door exits"; use as many exits as your design demands -- use two doors for corridors, etc.

- It uses only one Construct Layout and is easily updated with your artwork theme(s).

- Its chambers do not need to be "Square"; chambers can use any visual shape.

- It is not restricted to "4-doorway exits"; use as many exits as your design demands -- use two doorways for corridors, three doorways for "T" intersection, etc.

- Combine this IGM into your existing games to create mini-quests or along with the "BACKGROUND STORY TEMPLATE" to instantly create a game in minutes. See the `RPG Background Story` (https://www.construct.net/en/game-assets/tools/create-rpg-background-story-3059) OR try it in the Construct Arcade

- Learn to enhance this IGM with `Hidden Objects` from the ebook Building Hidden Objects Browser games. (https://www.construct.net/en/game-assets/e-books/building-hidden-object-3146)

Game Features ...

- This Mini-Quest IGM is compatible with both Construct2 and Construct3. It does NOT use any plugin beyond those found inside the Official Construct release.

- Easily exchange this artwork for any theme.

- Combine this IGM into your existing games to create mini-quests.

- There are several types of Door artwork included: metal, wooden, and secret.

- Gamers can either bump into doors or click on them.

- Treasure hoard is randomly generated and placed in Room #7 (by default).

- This IGM demonstration has a default grid size of 4x4. You can change the grid to any size!

- You can insert any number of doors per chamber - turn rooms into "2-door" corridors or 3-door "T" intersections!

- Teleportation doorways are "invisible doors" with collisions still enabled.

  • How did you do this? All I've seen is Rogue and Roguelike dungeon generators that are massive with extremely large layouts! Could you provide a sample screen shot of a cavern dungeon?

    • Yeap me too ;) Those Rogue generators mimic a decades-old programming pattern that does not "separations of concern". This IGM use that software concept -- what you see is separate from the data structures behind the game. The source code is available in the Asset store ...

Sure can! One cavern adventure coming right up! Oh, and it took only 15 minutes to find some cavern artwork and substitute it into the IGM ... voila a new cavern adventure.

  • I noticed that the dungeon's title changes every time I play. Was that intentional? or can I restrict it to just one adventure?

    • Yes, it was intentional and simple to implement. I use this IGM in all my RPGs as mini-quests that randomly appear. AND Yes, you could restrict this IGM to only one adventure title, but for me, I want just one IGM that can handle a multitude of mini-side quests.

The source code for C2 of C3 is in the Assets store. ...
