  • Videolan's VLC has the facility to convert to many formats, including webm, and it's free.

  • It would be much easier to help if you attached a .capx rather than the exported project, or at least, some pictures of your events.

If triggering is inconsistent, then one thing to check is to make sure your collision polygon and origins are correct.

The other main reason would be an event problem, but we would need the .capx or pictures to help in that respect.

  • Yea, sorry about that. It was something I was wanting to check so I had copied the link - oops

  • Firstly, upgrade to either the latest stable build - r178 - or the latest beta - r180 - both links at bottom of forum page.

There is now an official video plugin - The manual should give you the instructions you need.

  • When you select New, the examples and templates are all shown. Load whatever you wish, study, rinse and repeat!

  • It worked OK for me.

I downloaded the zip and unpacked to own folder.

Dragged the magicam.c2addon into C2, got the warning about installing from trusted sources etc, then relaunched. Opened example with no problem.

If I start a new .capx, Magicam is listed under General.

Are you using the Steam or standalone version of C2?

  • Doesn't make sense?!

Last ideas - have you tried not using minify and png recompression when exporting? We know minify can be problematic sometimes.

If it still doesn't work then Tom is your best bet.

  • I general pointer to how popular something is to check out the user activity in their forum. Last time I checked with Game Develop, it wasn't exactly a thriving community, but it may have gotten better since then.

Usability wise, I just didn't like the feel of it. The event system isn't as intuitive as C2. Just load some examples to see the difference - breakout is a good start.

  • Try Construct 3

Probably best to start with downloading the SDK templates from here: https://www.scirra.com/manual/15/sdk.

Then look at the built in examples and just experiment. If you understand GLSL (which I don't BTW) then you should be able to work things out from the current examples that come with C2.

If you encounter problems or have queries, may be best to post in the Effects section here: https://www.scirra.com/forum/effects_f184.

  • You say in this post - https://www.scirra.com/forum/action-gamemaster-the-ultimate-game-challenge_p834920?#p834920 - that you found a way to make the upload [quote:1t3qhkwy]have less weight

Is this anything to do with why you can't upload?

Have you tested an upload using one of the built-in examples? Did it work?

If it doesn't work with the built-in examples, try to attract Tom's attention, but from a look at the arcade, it appears many others are able to upload, so it may be a problem with your game.zip.

  • I don't understand how it can be irritating having to set the array dimensions. Do you expect it to know what dimensions you want by magic ;/

  • If you Google the error message, one suggestion says to run in Admin mode. Have you tried this?

  • Confirmed.

Interestingly, if you add another layer and move the 'gameover' sprite to the new layer, it reappears and will no longer disappear, at least for me.

  • Ashley usually asks for potential bugs to be tested on latest build, so just tried the 9 patch example in latest beta and it works OK.

Any chance you can temporarily install latest build and check? If it is OK then the bug has been fixed. If the bug still happens, then more than likely an issue on your side.

  • If it was a trojan - and my Kaspersky says it's OK - then a potential 1.5 million PCs would have been infected, which would more than likely have been headline news.

It's quite obviously a false positive. Send it to them for analysis.
