  • The equivalent would be the right stick as mouse/touch input.

    Then you use the 8Direction behavior. you could add an invisible target/sprite which moves circling around the main sprite when you move the right stick.

    Im sorry but for now you need a controller for the second Player which is the one causing the problem

  • Hahaha true, usually really obvious stuff is what often we dont see. My animations aren't in loop

  • I forgot to mention that in Idle I set it as so it can go into Idle if Hold_Stand is not False. So Idle is not playing because Hold_Stand fails to be set to False. Probably because the animation is being held by something else which I just dont see hahaha

    So I'm having this small problem which I cant figure out.

    Normally the animation would stop and it would continue with the next state, but now in the debugger it says animation playing = False, but is not transitioning to the next state which is Idle.

    Any help would be great, thanks!

  • I'm a Senior Character Artist with 12 years of experience. Worked in several companies here in Montreal. My perspective is that you don't need schooling but, its better. It will teach proper anatomy, color theory and a bunch of other things that I see a lot of people often lack and fail to find a job easily.

    Her concepts are alright but if she is serious about it, she'll need to show an exceptional ability to create any kind of concepts, whether is realist or more stylized.

    Also, concept art is more difficult to get in comparatively to 3D art or animation.

    Art in general and maybe specially for the video game industry means working really hard. Its a lot of hours to perfect your skills. So is she is serious about it, then she'll have to do a lot of extra learning and always look where she wanna be in a couple of years.

    There's a ton of online resources like Feng Zhu school of design which offers some very nice videos for free. And also schoolism (paid but great)

  • I completely agree Years ago I wouldn't have done it. Actually this project was born from a failure lol . I have a main project which advances slowly.

    And this one allows me to do something simpler. I previously had a small prototype for two players that works well so it was really easy to get it done.

    I'm trying to keep things really simple this time. Previous project had customization of characters and rpg elements and it became difficult to handle properly.

    Its really helping me with color palettes and overall mood when I do the transition to the sprites.

    As an update, I finished most basic Itos animations and soon Shirudo too.

    Now I need to focus in the several co-op mechanics to actually start making a real progress. So hope

    to be able to show something more fleshed out soon.

  • Really good idea. I tried to do something similar just for fun based on how the Original Prince of Persia tiles works and was a bit difficult to get it right. This would make it easier.
