  • TELLES0808, I like the retro style and pixel art, yet I can't draw like that <:(. The game is pretty fast, I am not a big fan of shump genre but this particular one has nice nostalgic look and plays smoothly. Now I am jealous a little bit, but there is always an opportunity for me to look and learn!

  • harrio, thanks! In my efforts of varying the gameplay I tried to make the player drag and drop the objects frequently. I've also tried the game on Ipad, it runs almost fine except certain cases of fluffing off the object when touch it with finger.

  • TELLES0808, Yeah, I'll try to follow the correct way, thanks again.

Btw, for some reason, the Golden Lotus doesn't run (;_;).

  • TELLES0808, well, to be honest, I haven't done a plan or a flowchart, keeping in my mind only the basic concept of the gameplay. I know it is wrong way, but I just couldnt help with inspiration demanding from me to do something simple and concrete. That is why the learning curve is too steep and the whole gameplay isn't balanced that much. Tho usually I do plans and visual schematics for my games(can't put an example for those are interactive fiction games made in Russian). Thanks for feedback, I've instantly got +20 to my Will to Create!

mineet, thanks for support, and best of luck to you all guys, it is pure pleasure to watch for your creative efforts!

  • Windwalker, thank you for the kind words! Boredom is the very thing I am afraid of!

Now I'm inspired and ready to go further!

  • I've made 20 levels in total(including boss level), added starting cutscene (yet I have to edit the story text) and menu consisting of sole option START<img src="smileys/smiley8.gif" border="0" align="middle" />, moved the entire project to Google Drive:

My current goal is to draw a few of various backgrounds and add the sounds and music. After that, if it is still an events within a free version limit left, I will add story cutscenes and try to improve the gameplay.

Being a newbie, I'd be really glad to get any feedback or critics from the community for I've realised there are many of things to learn.

  • #iggyboo, could this be of any help?

It is also a part of How do I FAQ.

Though the example has nothing common to vector graphics as the game at your link.

  • robin Sommer, I'm sure there is no reason to care about cartoonish look. I remember Broken Sword series where the cartoonish graphics couldn't prevent the grimdark feel of the whole story devoted to misterious cults and often violent events.

  • Here is my test game screenshot:

Well, the graphics isn't a big deal, but anyway.

  • Hi everyone, here is my Scirra Construct 2 test game:

    hellwalker.ucoz.com/index.html

The goal is to make the protagonist reach a little ziggurat. You may drag some shining objects (i. e. arrows, flying island) and put them in place so the protagonist can jump, speed up and change direction right in time. The game is in its early stage, though there are ten levels and basic gameplay.

I guess it is a little bit boring so far, yet I'm trying to improve the gameplay and make it being varied as far as free version's limitations allow me to.

I'd gladly put it in the Dropbox, but due to some weird circumstances it doesn't work properly here in Russia.
