    Am locking this topic as the version being used is well out of date. Newer versions have a lot of bug fixes and it's unfair to request free time/help from our users using these older versions.

  • Regarding reissue of licenses, we keep it at once per year because:

    • It's far easier to monitor and manage
    • It's less open to abuse
    • It's a more common scenario for the majority of our educational customers

    We're really trying to make educational licenses affordable for as many places in the world as we can (if they can't afford a subscription they are still welcome to use the free edition of course!) and so we think the take home licenses are good value for money even if you're running short term courses.

    Take home licenses

    A popular suggestion was to allow students to use the site license at home. We've now introduced "Take Home Licenses" for as little as £0.83p per month per student (a valid site license is required).

    1 "Take Home License" allows you to create a license for 1 named student. This student can then use this license at home. Up to once per year, educational institutes can revoke all issued Take Home Licenses and re-issue them to a new set of students. A Take Home License is non transferable until the insitute does their yearly revoke.

  • I'm sorry about the remember me issue, but unfortunately issues do come up. The forum migration was a huge task and there were always going to be a few issues at first. (The login system is based around the forum).

    I'm hesitant to give out badges/roll back counts etc because I generally get hit by a lot of requests if it's known this is something we do which ends up taking a lot of time I'd rather spend doing other things.

  • As per the blog, the millionth download was hit on 5am on the 17th March. This means anyone who downloaded it from 5am 17th March to 5am 18th March would get the download badge.

    Database logs showed you downloaded it on 18th March at 7am.

  • zenox is right, we don't use OpenSSL so we're unaffected. Still, never a bad idea to change your password every now and then anyway!

  • Sorry it took ages, was a real PITA to work out what was going on with it. Seems to be working now yes! (thank god!)
