"You might first record target tiles then moving to them one by one with rex_grid_move behavior."

Could you give me a quick run down on how to accomplush this? im sure i can figure it out

  • heres what i have so far- just really rough to show you it works! thanks explorer-lucy-74072.bitballoon.com

Would it be possible using your grid system to make it so that i could have it so the player drags their finger across the tiles to create a line that the player sprite will follow if they confirm path after drawing the line

  • Works perfect! thank you!

  • Hey Rex... long time fan...

I dont suppose you could do a tutorial for how to set up a hex board? i am trying to do so using 32x32 tiles and i just cant seem to get it working properly. (i can used tiled or not, i dont care).

here is the tileset i am using.

I would be eternally thankful if you can help... if not i understand <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_biggrin.gif" alt=":D" title="Very Happy" />

  • Hey all - First off thanks for taking your time to view this - I am very new to construct and programming in general but i have managed to do everything i need so far

This is not so much a question of HOW to do something but more of a question of what is the best way. I have read the tutorials on using ajax, web storage, saving,

etc. I can handle the actual implementation of anything discussed here, what I am fuzzy about is most efficient/best way to go about it.

My goal is to have a Web based RPG type game similar to something like pokemon or final fantasy mixed in with neopets there will even be an online versus mode for challenging other players.

Anways I was wondering what would be the best way to save the information within this game (the information will hopefully be saved often). Do i want to create save files based on player id at login? Do i want to store all the players information and the equipment they have in the equipment array into a Sql database or is there some other more efficient method? Is it practical to use SQL databases instead of arrays?

    How would you handle it?

    Thanks again

  • Hey there!

I am fairly competent (or at least i like to think so) with construct 2 and I am sure i could handle this myself... but I just dont have time while working on

graphics and content for my game so I am hoping to contract a small part of it out.

I am looking for a developer to create a rpg style drag and drop inventory system. Don't worry, i know exactly what i want and am fully capable of working

with arrays. Once you create it i will be able to understand it.

Thanks for your consideration you can email me at

  • Ah that tutorial is great! Thanks

  • Never mind, figured it out.. Now i feel dumb for wasting hours and your time.

Created a second blank sprite be the car and had the image sprite attached to it doing the rotating then having them both line up when resuming pressing up.

Funny how you get it right after you post it

  • Hi all, this should be pretty simple but i seem to be having trouble.

Is it possible to have it so that a sprite with the car behaviour can pivot on the spot when steering left or right after having accelerate?

For example if you hit the up arrow and start moving forwards when you let go of the up arrow (and drift forward) if you hit the left or right arrow you pivot on the spot while maintaining the direction/speed of travel from moving foward?

    Thanks

  • Why don't you ask for help on the forums with adds? I hear some people have got them working

  • Vuuv You private messaged me but i do not have 500 rep yet so i cannot private message you back, mind tossing me your email?

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • Its entirely worth it and its not even that expensive. Also having the non trial version will help you a ton. Being limited to only 100 events and not being able to create subfolders for layouts and things is harrrsshhhh.

My suggestion is just play around the free version, learn, get used to it, try making a few small projects. Heck even start your bigger project but pre-develop it in a few projects (cause of the event limit).

Then when you are READY to launch something, upgrade before you monetize and you should be good, and that cheap investment should get returned quickly ;D

  • It would be awesome if there was an option in construct 2 to closed the current running program and open up a second one.

That was if your program gets really big and you are doing it in say...html, instead a huge load time you could have portions of the game load, get finished

and completed then load second portions/programs.

  • Hello!

Im attempting to make a game with a tactical battle system (like that of final fantasy tactics, disgaea, etc)>

The battle system can also already be seen in a posted project on these forums (do a search for super nuclear riders - Thats what i want).

I can handle most of the battle stuff but i dont know how to do the grid based isometric movement.

Im willing to pay quality rates for quality work!

    Thanks for viewing

  • Looks interesting but the link does not work for me
