  • Nice!

e Web browser has support for the HTML5 canvas object. To display images in a canvas, they must be cached in memory. Additionally, only the portion of the image in cartesian sector 2 may display at times, leading to unpredictable results

Doubt the games will run fast enough though.

  • Oh sh*t, what am I saying.

Thanks for pointing that out Sheepy!

  • I don't get it, is it not working?

2 increments the UID every time an instance of any object is spawned. C2 increments IID every time an instance of a specific object is spawned.

Pick the object with the lowest IID and destroy it?

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • Some of the highlights from Construct 2 r102 which has just been released!

    My personal favorite add..

cirra Arcade now supports switching in to fullscreen mode using the Browser object's 'Request fullscreen' action. This allows you to make Arcade games that can take up the entire monitor, but remember you must create a key or button the user must press since the action only works in a user-inputted event, and it is only supported in Firefox and Chrome.

This has been requested quite a few times, so kudos to Ash and Tom for finally getting this in!

A quick run through of the other adds,

    1. Windows 8 plugin
    2. New instance variables icon
    3. correctly detects touch input on Windows 8
    4. New Touch object expressions
    5. New system expressions
    6. CocoonJS (Suspending/Resuming)
    7. Browser object: 'on resized' trigger
    8. Color Noise

Of course, a lot of major and minor bug fixes as well.

I also spotted this bit of good (hopeful) news!

f all goes to plan we can issue a new stable release in the next week or two

Finally, I'm going to go test out the new features now, so before that got to add that I'm pretty stoked about how fast Scirra has gotten the engine to support Windows 8. Just in time for launch in October. Anyone going to give this new market a shot?

  • It's weird how it doesn't change height at all as it runs.

The body is still and the back as well.

Otherwise, very good animation you have there!

  • Love the 02, so carefree & peaceful sounding!

I like 01 too, it feels different, but I'm unsure of what story it's trying to tell me.

  • I read that Facebook plugin doesn't work on CocoonJS, not so sure about appMobi.

  • Knifegrinder Good to hear, my theory should be at least half right then. May be malfunctioning on some devices though as FredQ reports the opposite result.

  • That's successful enough!

How awesome it would have been if you had charge a small sum for this. Though I'm sure you would have gotten much less downloads.

  • Ah, it's good to know this will be added in future. It's pretty important for a Full Exe exporter experience.

  • Yeah, I highly doubt HTML5 gaming will be on Wii U and DS.

I could imagine some sort of emulator, but it wouldn't be anything official from Scirra or Nintendo.

Also, I'm just saying this as a very small possibility, chances are there are too many limitations on these two platforms to have emulators even developed on them.

  • Same with Mipey, though I think you can't do it with newly made dropbox accounts. I can simply export as many version on dropbox and copy the link with right click into the browser. It's much faster than FTP.

  • lucid Awesome, thanks for the good news. I love how closely you seem to be working with the engine's developera. I hope that Spriter will be a major part of C2, and not just a compatibility plugin.

  • These are all great ideas, the chance/dice idea, though as mentioned above can be done with random() and compare value, should be added in as a condition as well, as a game with a lot of "luck" based events would certainly benefit a lot and make it simpler. Most games also require atleast a few of these in my experience.

  • You sure? you should upload the .capx for us to check.

Anyway, even if a sound is not on Loop, it can be played multiple times at once if the event is asking it to, and the event will ask it to play it on every tick as long as it meets all the conditions. eg. you set Life to -1, and the event checks if Life > 0. Well, this event is effectively true and will keep playing the actions and sounds every tick.
