  • looks like Flash refuse to die <img src="smileys/smiley17.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

surprisingly that demo runs really smooth though (with no stuttering at all),

i haven't seen any HTML5 game demo that run smoothly on iPad like that, hopefully soon ?

  • i don't see anything wrong with it, are you sure you're uploading the correct capx file ?

Everything looks normal here, i can see the tiled background too

  • Did you accidentally hiding the layer by any chance ? <img src="smileys/smiley17.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

If not try to restart your computer & update graphic driver maybe,

because that basic tutorial should work fine.

    • Double Click that blue transparent thing, it will open "Texture editor"
    • In the Texture Editor, click on that "Load Image from file" icon, on the top bar
    • Load the image you downloaded earlier in 1st step, it will replace the blue tranparent thing with the real image <img src="smileys/smiley1.gif" border="0" align="middle">

    I hope that works

  • FredQ I wonder if your problem happens after you package it using phonegap/appmobi.

Have you tried to simply play it using your mobile browser ? (iPhone/Android browser), is the FullScreen (scale) still broken on the mobile browser too ?

  • I agree, i would prefer CTRL+Click rather than ENTER+Click (Enter is on the right side of keyboard, so if you're not left-handed you have to move your left hand to other side)

CTRL+Click works great on Adobe Illustrator to cycle through all the object underneath the mouse cursor, and i believe it will works great on C2 also :D

  • thanks Erndog2k,

it's not exactly what i'm looking for but it actually helps quite a bit <img src="smileys/smiley2.gif" border="0" align="middle">

    i found this thread:

    http://www.scirra.com/forum/layout-editor-question_topic37584.html

looks like Construct Classic actually has a shortcut (ENTER+click to select underneath object in layout view),

though i'm not sure if it will iterates through all the objects underneath mouse cursor when you keep clicking.

I think this feature is quite useful, especially when we have lots of object overlapping in the layout, i hope it will be implemented in C2 soon <img src="smileys/smiley1.gif" border="0" align="middle">

  • Is there an easy way to select overlapping object/sprite in Layout view ?

For example i have a stack of 5 card with exactly same size & same position,

How do i select the one in the middle, or the one at the bottom.

In case there is no shortcut to do it yet in C2,

would be nice if for example we can press CTRL + Click and it will iterate through the objects directly underneath the mouse cursor <img src="smileys/smiley1.gif" border="0" align="middle">

similar to Adobe Illustrator like this :

    Select nested or overlapping objects

  • Kyatric,

just an idea for future update,

how about when the path finding doesn't find any solution,

it will pick one solution closest to the target <img src="smileys/smiley2.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

  • Here's a link to my capx

The layout and the event sheet seem properly connected...

    Thanks,

    Niels

It works fine on my machine,

player is rotating toward my mouse cursor,

and everytime I press space he will shoot a bullet.

I don't see anything wrong, have you tried it on another browser ?

    like chrome/firefox/ie, etc... ?

  • Thanks Ashley, that's exactly what's happen.

Sorry for the noob mistake, I'm still working through the tutorial <img src="smileys/smiley2.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

  • [r80-81] Strange behavior after deleting & recreating player instance ? (from Ghost Shooter Tutorial)

    To repro :

    • Tested on Construct r80 & r81
    • Download Ghost Shooter tutorial project from this page:

    http://www.scirra.com/tutorials/37/beginners-guide-to-construct-2/page-7

or direct link to the capx project:

    http://www.scirra.com/downloads/ghostshooter-tutorial.capx

    • Delete the player object (use the Object Bar if you have difficulties to select it because it's overlap with the "game over" text)
    • Recreate player object by dragging it from Project Bar
    • Run Preview (or export it if necessary, both will have the same problem)
    • Move around the player and keep shooting with mouse click,

soon the player sprite will offset from its real position

    Screenshot:

    <img src="http://i44.tinypic.com/5008zd.jpg" border="0">

  • To Repro:

    1. Open this simple tutorial project (from the first 2 steps of ghost shooter tutorial)

    http://www.mediafire.com/?2571yr51p7nwv46

    2. Export project

    3. Open the exported html in any browser (Chrome, Firefox, IE, all gave same error msg), I'm using xampp apache local server.

    notes:

Previewing the project from Construct works fine,

problem only appears once i export the project.
