  It's an input element with type='color' attribute. A Color chooser might be a better choice of words since color a picker is generally an analogy to grabbing a color from another source. At the moment there's no support for ie due to lack of implementation. There's a simple drawing example provided.

  Create two bat files :

  File1.bat

  start C:\Users\%username%\Desktop\project_folder\File2.bat

  rem Notice I didn't use %cd%\File2.bat because preview runs from a temp folder;

  File2.bat

  echo CMD STARTED

  Now in your project back in construct

  • add the browser plugin to your project
  • create a variable named cd and set it's value to the path of your first bat file with \\ 's

  To launch cmd Browser Execute Javascript :

  "require('child_process').execFile('"&cd&"');"

  With that said there's probably a way easier way to do this

  I have no problem with running construct with VMware Player, might be worth a try. Uncheck 'Accelerate 3d graphics' under your virtual machine settings to keep construct from crashing

  You're better off fetching the data server side to keep your api key private.

  I haven't really played with reg expressions in construct but it sounds like its doing a test() and not a match()

  The first returns true/false where the second would return an array with the matched text

  You don't necessarily need the array, you can create the grid with a loop and store the (x,y) index of each tile as instance variables. I made the grid quickly for you as an example.

  in the case of a drawing app for you could use the ReplaceColor effect on a solid white sprite; Set RGB source to 255; and RGB replace values to your new color values; from then on in you know the color of said sprite;

  But if you need to pick colors from individual pixels then go with R0J0's suggestion.
