  • On collision between car and cone

.. Cone: Physics: Apply impulse at angle

Force of impulse: start with 10 and tweak your way according to your likings

    Angle : angle(car.x, car.y, cone.x, cone.y)

If this gives the opposite direction, simply switch the parameters (cone first, car after).

And for the use of physics, be sure to read tutorials about physics.

  • Hi to all the newcomers <img src="smileys/smiley4.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

Interesting new wave of new faces.

  • breravin: indeed I confirm the same thing, but it works in chrome.

Since you have found the youtube channel, it is good, still I did some "report" of this "bug" in "Website issues", keep an eye on it.

  • Tom: Reported first in this thread.

Apparently, the youtube integration in tutorials does not display in firefox 10.0.2

This tutorial doesn't display the video at all in FF (my youtube account is set to use HTML5 code, I don't know if it really applies to embeded videos though).

In chrome, the video is in a really small frame.

Maybe something to do with some CSS.

  • Each files are in ma4 AND ogg format.

Let's say you want to have the music "MattOglseby - 1", you import "MattOglseby - 1.m4a" and "MattOglseby - 1.ogg".

When you set the play action, it will pick the format according to the user's browser.

  • It seemingly should have nothing to see with the fact that it is free version.

It could be a problem with multiple projects sharing the same folder indeed.

But unless you provide the reproduction steps to the bug, hard to tell.

An interesting talk that gives some advices on how to make a web game in 2012 using the technologies available.

The talk is highly oriented in favor of google services but still gives valuable informations.

The talk is quite technical, considering about aspects outside of the gameplay itself, but still I guess game designers should be aware of that process since it is basicaly what the C2 games are, web games that can be handled in the same way as described in the video.

  • I can confirm the fix seem to work in ff 10.0.2 and chrome 17.0.963.79 m

  • I think you should have a look at the blog article about C2's architecture and reformulate your idea again.

  • It's a lot of work.

You can download and use freely gimp or paint.net in the meantime.

It's better to use a dedicated software for art since whatever painting features C2 might have added, it will never be the first goal of C2 to paint illustrations and/or sprites.

  • Signatures are updated as soon as you "Save changes" in your profile, you don't need to make a new post.

You might have to reload (f5) a page you were looking at maybe (containing posts of yours), yes, but posting isn't a requisite for signature update.

  • m4a files are required for internet explorer only, whereas ogg files will work in chrome and FF ("only").

When importing music, you need to have both the m4a AND ogg files (or import from wav or other supported sound format, in win7, ogg and m4a will be created by C2).

It's not as much a bug as a "requisite".

Having only a single sound file format is bad design due to the way the audio plugin works for now (due to the audio support in browsers).

  • Check this out.

Use lowcase bbcode for the url provided in the "Share" part under your game.

    Also moving to "Website issues".
