  • So do I.

  • That message was adressed to Dutoit...

    That's what a means.

And I'll stand by the fact that the "dispute" in this topic makes little to no sense and is not founded on valid arguments.

So moving on, if you want help, start acting accordingly.

If you just want to lament and complain, as I said, this topic will be closed and no one will cry for you.

  • Please show me exactly where in my message I have "treated you like a dog" or "disrespected" you.

just annoying that in every post and help and answer my queries are always with 0 posts.

If all your messages and help requests are vague you can't blame the community.

I asked for further explanations on your issue in my previous message but apparently it is being disrespectful.

Well, we are not a community of psychics, we can't guess what you have in mind. If you have that talent, good for you.

But be aware humanity in general don't.

If you just want to lament, this topic will end up being closed. If you're truly looking for help start giving the informations required.

Once again, people here owe you nothing.

  • Hard to tell with the little screenshot here.

But apparently, you are simply not loading the saved data when you start your application.

You set a local key named "Level" but on start of layout try to load a local key named "XBest" (where X is a number).

As far as I can tell from the screenshot, no key "XBest" exists.

Also I'm not sure starting the key name by a number is the wisest thing to do anyway.

Make sure to save "Level"X"Best" keys at the end of each levels, and then you should be able to load data from those keys afterwards.

If you are still having issues, consider posting your whole capx as it may help finding the issue easier.

  • Well, there is not a definite answer for this question as it depends a lot on your project.

I'll assume you mean you are on a first layout when you decide your games "settings". And the game happens on another layout.

To transfer informations from a layout to another you have several tools.

Global variable is one of them. Array and dictionary are another.

Just consider, in the start of layout for your "game" layout to go check the values of either the global variable and/or array/dictionary (depending on what data structure you decided) and set the current layout according to those values.

You have three character to chose from which can be controlled either by player 1 or player 2.

It means that one instance of character will be destroyed to only leave the two instances chosen by the players.

One instance will be assigned to the first player, the other to the other player. (For more informations on how to assign instances to a player or another check out my Bomberman-like tutorial).

Then you apply the X,Y, Z settings.

    Etc...

It is up to you to "program" for yourself what values you will have to pass from the first layout, and how to "interpret" those values on your second layout so that it makes a consistent game.

  • Use the array's action "Set size" - https://www.scirra.com/manual/108/array

  • You can use the system expression angle() and/or the properties Touch.X and Touch.Y for that.

If you use "Set angle toward" just enter the X and Y coordinates of the Touch object when it is touching.

  • The issue is that your first post is not clear.

You know what you are trying to achieve, but we don't. Is your capx supposed to be a top down view game ? A side-scrolling game ? Hard if not impossible to tell. And that's just the start of it.

I can understand if you have issues talking in English, but it makes you come across pretty wrong in your posts.

During the whole "dispute", you sound entitled to get some help from moderators, staff, the universe ?

Well I'm sorry for you but that's not how things work around here. Buying a C2 license does not entitle you to any kind of support from the forum members.

If you were to ask nicely and prove that you first went by searching by yourself in the already existing posts or even the How do I FAQ it would already be a plus.

But as it stands, you sound like everyone owes you help.

    It comes across very wrong.

If you need help with the pathfinding behavior, why not starting with the manual article and searching the tutorials for the keyword "pathfinding".

If you already did, you can put that in your original post.

Explain in details what you are trying to achieve, what you did, the results you would expect and the results you are expecting.

A nice help request that would allow for a nice help answer.

DUTOIT: I'd strongly suggest you to leave the current topic and don't feel the need to answer or add more to the already ridiculous argument. Thank you.

The report option you mention goes for you as well, you don't need/have to "do justice" by yourself.

This is just a topic to vent, with indeed no clear explanation in the OP, it has no place on our forums.

As already mentioned take your refund demand to but I wouldn't expect much as per Scirra's refund policy.

    Closing.

I've merged your topic and his as this is the appropriate thread that did exist for the book in question, in the correct forum for the issues/questions you had.
