  • Hey. Making a speedy wee game that requires quick reflexes. It works okay on PC, but when playing it on Android, the frame rate's all over the place. It's usually flopping about from 50 to 60, which makes some jumps hard to nail. Is there any way to set the maximum frame rate to 50 n' never let it go over? I think that'd sort these problems out.

  • this is great man. the level assembling effect is great! are you parsing a TMX or something?

    I've no clue what that even means, man! Haha! I'm just using a plugin called move_to to move them to the correct position when the player gets close. It might be a performance hog, but I kinda just make this stuff up as I go. Haha!

    The new gifs of the finalized robot and toy lands are amazing! The toy world especially is an interesting one. Great job there. One of the really good ones here this production of yours is.

  • I used 'on tap', but it seems slower than 'is touching' or 'on touched'. Thanks a lot for the help, lads.

  • Hey. Got my controls set up like this: Left side of screen to shoot fireball, right side to jump, swipe to slide. But if I swipe, it shoots or jumps depending on where I swipe. Is there a way to ignore a touch action if I'm swiping? So I don;t accidentally do those other 2 moves?

    I sure do. Gonna do a flying enemy too. The enemies' designs will change with different worlds 'cause they'll be set in the usual platformer themed levels like ice worlds, volcanos, space.

    Not that everything in the game would need a logical explanation but how come that lasers found their way to block Piggy from finding water? Is there some evil mastermind behind all this who hid the chili in his food in the first place?

    That laser level will be set in a futuristic cyber factory or space or something. lasers look outta place in a dessert. As for who put them there? I have no idea, let's just say it was some paranoid alien!

  • Thanks! Tried the overlapping at offset idea, it works, but only if I've landed on the block, if I just run onto it, there's no change. Hmm...

    Both objects have rectangle collision polygons.

    Took out the Trigger Once n' everything is well! Thanks again for you help! Really appreciate it.

  • I'm still a bit of a C2 noob. I assumed that if I didn't, it would just keep resetting the shake animation for as long as the player stood on the block. I've tried it without the Trigger Once, but it doesn't help. Tried just making the block explode on collision, but that doesn't work either. It;s a head scratcher.

  • Hey. Having some trouble with these wee blocks that should blow up when they collide with the player, If you check the GIF, you can see that SOMETIMES they do and others they don't. I have no idea why this would happen. Has anyone come across anything like this before?

  • Makes you laugh, eh? Haha! Great. I'm gonna have a wee intro story bit at the start. It's about a pig who eats a chilli (that's why he can shoot fireballs), he turns red n' can't stop running until he finds some water.

  • Hey. Started working on a wee platformer, something simple that my 4 year old nephew could play, but with a bit of extra depth for people looking for a challenge.

    You can take the game slowly n' just pass the levels if you want something casual. Like this...

    Or put the pedal to the medal n' speed through it...

    Some Piggy animations. Just for the craic.

    Some more speedy shenanigans (level tiles aren't applied yet, of course).

    I'd sure appreciate any comments or feedback. Anyone wanna help me with some playtesting?
