  • Ohoho, it seems like I found* a way to include StatusBar plugin and the build succeeds!

You have to add 2 plugins to Intel XDK: File and StatusBar. It seems like StatusBar (and some other plugins from that group) requires the File plugin.

Hope this helps. I'll try if it removes the Status Bar ASAP.

*I do not claim that I'm the first one to find this

  • grigrizljac Unfortunately I've tried adding the StatusBar plugin and writing the required javascript calls to hide the bar but XDK 'failed to install' the status bar plugin...or words to that effect.

The only way to get my game compiling again was to remove the status bar plugin

Hm, that sounds familiar ... Maybe I have tried it, too, and the build failed ...

EDIT: just tried, and it failed.

EDIT2: found a way that leads to a successful build. Besides StatusBar plugin, include File plugin.

What do you think, Ashley, why can't we hide the iOS Status Bar? Or, maybe, imaffett?

  • I have the exactly same problem ... As I have heard, you need to tick in Intel XDK, in Project Plugins "Status Bar". Some people say it helps, but I haven't given it a try yet.

  • I have two issues. Does anyone know how to fix them?

    1. Status Bar is always shown on iOS, I can't find a way to hide it ... How can I hide it?

    2. App icon is not the one I have set in Spotlight Search, App Switcher and Settings. How can I set all the icons?

If more info is required to fix the issues, tell me.

  • If you are using Z or Y, I recommend you to use the other one (Y or Z) for the same thing, too. Some keyboards have Y and Z switched (QWERTZ; YXCV and QWERTY; ZXCV)

  • I suggest you creating a new mini project, where you include only the thing that doesn't work. Usually, that solves the problem as you see if there's a mistake somewhere. If it still doesn't work, you can post the .capx here because there's nothing inside that you couldn't show.

On the other hand, I guess that if you have it to flash for 50 seconds every tick, that could be the problem ...

  • Congratulations!

  • Does Intel XDK not support iOS 9? I built an IPA (adhoc) using Intel XDK/Crosswalk and I tested after in my iPhone 6 with iOS9 and the app crashed. I have looked in the build settings and the iOS target version option I have not found a 9 version option (only goes until 8). Someone else with the same problem?

Try to increase Cordova CLI version in XDK project properties iOS Build Settings.

  • I also think sheets should have a different style. (visual is often faster than reading, so it is faster to recognise with style)

  • 1. You can set this in preferences.

You can just set a default path. But it would be great to have a different one for each project: for example, the projects I want to export for Intel XDK, I want to export them to *projectname*/www/. But the ones I don't want to build with XDK, I want to set a different path, for example to Desktop or NAS etc.

  • Probably some files are missing. Be sure that you upload all files online. Try to upload them again.

  • As I know, Apple doesn't want to confuse users. On iOS devices (iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad), it's from always that you close an app bay pressing Home Button. If there was a button in every app, in a different place, that would confuse users, they wouldn't know where to press.

  • Sounds familiar. Also happens when undoing/redoing.
