  On a new layer place the boat, and a new mask object (can be animated like water). Make sure the layer has "Force Own Texture" checked. Have the mask in front of the boat, and its blending mode set to "Destination Out".

  Sorry it's just a normal sprite, I would just label it as a mask.

  Check out the Anchor behavior to use with the scale outer, as well as double check the layer the ViewportLeft("layer") is using?

  I think you can only replace individual frames at a time, if you'd like to keep your collision polygons as they are. Drag and drop an image directly on top of the image you'd like to replace in the animations editor.

  In the editor it's strange that the field to enter width and height are before the words "width/x" and "height/y", and always leads to initial confusion.

  Here's my swing at it! The image has two frames, a cropped and full sized, other than that just these events shown. You could easily make sure when cards are dropped they're separated enough so they don't overlap when grown full-sized. Also when they're in your "hand", they wouldn't grow and stay on frame 0 which you can do the opposite when they're in play - staying on frame 1.

  ps. be sure to set the block to destroy at the end of the tween!

  I think you forgot the most important part! The boolean check "PlayerIsAlive" with the else!
