  • caplocks1111 How? That's really not helpful, at least take the time to elaborate your answer.

  • Is this any good? Looks like the technique that TELLES0808 described.

  • Edit: Yes I'm still "sticking around" Please get in touch with any/all interesting projects. Thanks!

    ----------------------------------------------------------

I'm an experienced Windows developer (C++/Java) getting into 2D games. Have looked at Unity, etc. but decided to focus on C2 as the best way to get some games under my belt.

At the moment I can offer some free dev time for nothing more than a credit on your game if you get published. I'll give my honest opinion about any task offered and tell you if I don't think I can handle it. I.e. I won't waste your time. I just want to build up some real world reputation as well as skills and experience in C2. As such I'd prefer projects that are at least hoping to see the light of day i.e. no homework please!

I'm a quick learner and you'll see that most of my forum posts are helping to answer questions rather than asking them

Obviously I don't have a portfolio of games, just the one on the WIP forum (which is actually pretty complete).

https://www.scirra.com/forum/berzerk_t109651 It's a 1:1 re-make but I think shows attention to detail and the fact that I can complete a project.

I'm based in Melbourne, Australia. I only speak English I do have Skype but I think for small tasks, my preference would be email. I will usually be able to answer very quickly.

Please drop me a PM if you're interested. Thanks.

  • Nice game well done

    And... welcome to the forum!

  • Look up:

    on destroy

    Random ()

    Spawn object

  • Just select an event and press 'v'

  • Could try the nickname plugin. I only just learned about it but search the plugin forum.

  • Pick it by largest IID maybe?

  • I don't see how that was the solution tbh. At least in the sample you posted.

  • The thing about Berzerk robots is they have no idea how to pathfind, but they will either track your X or track your Y depending on what state they're randomly in for a while. This gives them a really human like behavior where they'll duck behind walls to "dodge your bullets" because you're ducking to dodge theirs and they're just kind of mirroring you.

It's like when you meet someone in a hallway and you both go one way then another in a dance of blocking each other...

Yep, I know trust me I played it a lot on Mame for research However they also move on angles. I made mine kind of dumb and only pathfind when they are in a certain range, etc. All good fun.

BTW I played yours, well done it's cool.

  • Please explain a couple of things.. why are there no actions, and why do you have two identical events? (5 and 6). Also the 'every tick' has no effect there (I changed it to every 0.2 seconds to reduce the amount logging).

How do you know this is not working? I added a log message to event 6 which shows that 2 sprites are selected correctly when they both overlap that point. Finally, why are you using "is overlapping object" in event 2 and "is overlapping x, y" in event 6? Just for testing I presume.

  • Check this page http://www.scirra.com/badges It will show you most of the ways of getting rep. But there's not a lot of benefit to getting reputation, other than for bragging rights.

  • Lordshiva1948 you referred to a tutorial, and it's not a tutorial. Anyway the stackoverflow question talks about classes, inheritance, class variables, etc. and so doesn't really apply to C2. But if he got something out of it, that's great.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

  • beardedeagle Read this tutorial it explains lots

I think you've posted the wrong link.

  • I would rather have the best 2d platform on the market. Isn't that why we all came here in the first place?
