  • Yes, it shows the power of C2 for making games even on the free version. You've made enough games that Lee's tutorials aren't going to help you much, but for beginners they are amazing.

  • Ah yes! This was the first game I ever made with C2! It was based on an amazing youtube tutorial by Lee Stemkoski. I still credit him in most of my games because of the inspiration and great knowledge gained from that beginners tutorial. I recommend it to everyone starting out with C2.

  • It's not going to be $100 anymore. If it were, they wouldn't be changing it. It's going to be somewhere in the $3-5,000 range I believe (speculation).

  • Thank you. I reread the blog and remember seeing it now haha. Should be good!

  • I must have missed the updated iAP/ad plugins bit. I've seen a few people referencing it in the forums but I don't remember seeing it mentioned in the blog posts.

  • Try Construct 3

  • I think the website limitations (meta tags, spidering, etc...) is due to everything being within the html5 canvas, so I'm not sure C3 would be able to deal with that issue. It would be amazing if it could though!

  • So sad.

One of the negative things I see is that it's really just going to move the discussion away from the steam site and to kickstarter or some other fund raising platform. The process for devs will be basically the same, except instead of getting votes from people on steam who say they would buy the game, they will be getting 'votes' from people funding their kickstarter campaign to pay to be on steam. Another downside for that for devs is that steam recently updated their rating system so that games purchased through kickstarter and the like don't count in the product rating system anymore, making even the most popular games purchased through kickstarter and not directly through steam get much less exposure on the actual steam site.
