  You can use the '|' symbol, but not everywhere. For your frame check, the standard event mechanism works. Picking allows you to evaluate an expression with symbols. Both are shown here:

  The problem is C2 can't compare an object against it's own type. You need an invisible clone to position appropriately, and then do any tests. This isn't pretty, but...

  There have been a number of tile based questions lately, so I've created a quick sample of how to use arrays to store frame numbers for the tiles. You can populate the tiles by the array value, or get the array value by the tile. It shows saving and loading, and a basic tile picker mechanism. Ideally this should be a tutorial, but I don't have time to do a proper job at the moment for a tutorial. Hopefully the comments are enough. This template can easily be expanded for your own use by altering the globals at the beginning and loading your own tiles.

  Actually you can replace the 'Create/Set position' with a Spawn, to save a step. Also the ColDetUID instance-variable on the Car isn't used and can be removed.

  This is best done with an invisible detector (left not-so-invisible so you can see it for this example).
