What you've described should be no different than what was done with the Chosen=1 in event 8 of the Example file. You would just make sure you choose the number you care about, then only those will be picked.

I just tried it. It works fine. It locks in Portrait. Also, from your other thread, I'm seeing the "RETOUR" and the yellow block just fine. I've got a Nexus 7.
Are you trying this on a real device, or just the simulator?
Sorry I got mixed up which way you wanted, you want Portrait.
If you are using the "Crosswalk for Android" build, make sure you select the "Android (Crosswalk)" build settings tab. I kept making this mistake too, since it defaults to the "Android" tab.
You can use "Is overlapping at offset", inverted, to see if the position you are about to move into will not overlap.
