Nice work- I voted for you-

I walked around a while and looked at all the objects but never did find that poster...

  • Submitted right at the very last minute as usual, game is called Toy Box Metropolis, because we wanted to do something without shooting and explosions. You can play it here:

I'll play your games when I've had some sleep as it 3am here

Awesome work! Very solid game- a lot of potential there. I left you a long comment and rated you (very highly )

  • Here is my 4th Ludum Dare in a row and the 2nd one I threw together in a hurry using my sons artwork. It is made mostly for my son to enjoy seeing his drawings come to life and practice using a mouse. It was going to have more of an inside of the igloo with different things to do in the one room house but we got busy over the weekend and time ran out quickly. I haven't gotten to it yet but I look forward to checking out all the other games in this thread.

  • I've rated all the games on here, good work everyone!

  • Me too- great job- lets do it again soon! Maybe we can get a few more people posting and participating for the next one.

    Awesome work everyone!

  • A year or so back we used to have loads of people on here participating, I think we had about 3 events in a row with 20+ games on a thread like this. zatyka used to do some really good posts ahead of each LD, but he's not been around lately. Maybe someone else should take over next time and do a big post about it. I don't think this Open Topic subforum is the best place for it to get noticed, but not sure if we can post it in the General one?

  • Just played some of the submissions here, great work everyone! I love your art style SecondDimension

I posted about my entry on the forums here. Or you can use this direct link.

    Some images:

  • I was thinking in join the challenge and make an aquarium like that episode of south park where they dropped sea monkeys and they develop their technology and start fighting each other to the death. Or something like Simpson in that episode where lise lost her tooth and stored it in an ambar sample, and the same thing happened, but with starships, etc, also, they believed Lisa was their God.

Maybe a good tug of war... Or feeding a side give it a boost to the development and who develop first destroy the opposite side.

Someone needing an artist here, heh! (My lack of time to draw arts is my Achilles ankle, but who no).

  • Here's my entry

    One Room Rush

I didn't see too many games made with C2, I don't know what it could mean...less C2 users in this segment of indie developers...?

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • Dunno, maybe because unity is full free and other tools are free, without limitation in any kinda.

I'm getting an approach of the design I want for this little sandbox.

Moved most of the former threads about LD in the "Game Development, Design & Ideas" forum (where one of the sticky topic is about existing game jams).

Feel free to post here for the next game jams/Ludum Dare, feels an OK forum to talk about it.

I used to be big on LD as well, but in the end, this specific game jam is nothing but a popularity contest.

Nevertheless, I still believe game jams help to train game making skills and are a good idea.

I just really got disheartened by the Ludum Dare itself.

I can see that- Ive enjoyed doing them just because its fun to be a part of something so big- it always gets so many submissions, but it does turn into a popularity contest especially at the end with the peer rating-

Thanks for the advice on where to post in future threads- ill remember that and post in a more appropriate spot next time-

These results from the Global Game Jam the past couple years are interesting- I dont think C2 is going to drop off- seams to still have a strong user-base. I think part of it is C2 is a great introductory software / engine. You can "Graduate" from it and go to unity or something else that has more options or 3d etc.

It does seam to hold its own-

Im curious to see what Construct 3 holds in store-

Yeah maybe it was only bad luck to find 2 or 3 C2 games in my rating/review process
