Easy Leaderboard is a simple 3-column (position, name, score) leaderboard with a customizable appearance
  • Hi,

I just want to ask whether someone can show me a project with the new leader board update.

  • Try this:

    1. Add the Construct Game Services plugin to the project
    2. Use the 'Submit score' action when you want to submit a score to the leaderboard - leave the leaderboard ID empty
    3. Upload to the Construct Arcade
    4. Play the game up to the point a score is submitted

Then the leaderboard should appear on the Arcade.

  • Thz alot Ashley :D

  • Hi Ashley

Will it eventually be possible for us to load the leaderboard inside the game without the game having to be hosted on Construct Arcade?

  • Yes, we have plans for leaderboards to work independently of the Construct Arcade.

  • Hi Ashley

Thanks heaps! That's awesome news - really excited about this :)

Interesting. Does that mean you plan on hosting a server/service for the leaderboards? And potentially more?

It's already designed this way yes, with the arcade being a sort of end user of the leaderboard service. We do hope to add more services, we'll do a blog post about it all soon.

  • Any news on this? ( being able to use leaderboards on any site, not just Scirra Arcade? )

Or a rough estimate on when?

    Thanks

  • We're looking to give a general purpose leaderboard to everyone with a Construct 3 personal/business plan soon - can't give exact ETA but am working on it now.

  • How do I add the plugin? I've tried the .NET scripts from the leaderboard tutorial but none of them worked.

  • Right, in your Game Services account you're now able to create games, and in games you create you can now create leaderboards.

For anyone without an active Construct 3 subscription, you will only be able to create free leaderboards.

Anyone with an active Construct 3 subscription will be able to:

    • Personal create one standard leaderboard
    • Startup Business create one standard leaderboard per seat - only the administrator of the plan is the only one able to use these leaderboards
    • Business Plans can create one business leaderboard per seat - - only the administrator of the plan is the only one able to use these leaderboards
    • Education Plans limited to using free leaderboards only

How do I add the plugin? I've tried the .NET scripts from the leaderboard tutorial but none of them worked.

The .NET scripts are now able to be used with leaderboards you create as above. RE the Construct plugin, it is not feature complete yet so you will need to wait for us to develop all the calls to the leaderboard service before you can use it. Alternatively, you can create your own plugin but I would wait for the official one.

Leaderboards should be considered beta - we have not run services like this before so we will need time to balance the resources behind the scenes as usage ramps up as well as iron out any bugs.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • Hi Tom

When it says you can create one leaderboard - does this mean you can only have one leaderboard game, or can this leaderboard be used for different games?

I currently have a personal license.

    Thank in advance!

  • You can use the leaderboard for different games, it's up to you how you use it. If you change the game it's for, you'll want to delete the current one and create a new one.

  • Tom - Sorry, I guess what I was asking - I'm trying to make a whole bunch of small arcade / high score enabled games. It seems like this is not possible, as you can only have one leaderboard enabled game at one time.

The only way I guess I could make it work, is by having some sort of Construct 3 game, that is essentially an 'arcade' and every 'mini-game' adds to a pool score.

Are you guys planning to offer more than one leaderboard or is this set in stone?

    Thanks again!
