Well things got interesting real quick. The UK joined a number of other countries on lockdown this week and some people are starting to lose track of what day it is... Even more reason to write this blog so I can stick to a schedule!

There's not masses to write about this week thanks to the lack of streaming, but I do have a couple of talking points.

Firstly, I've published a sort-of tutorial covering the clicker games I made. The reason I say 'sort-of' tutorial is because it's more of a discussion of what's in the example files rather than a step-by-step guide. That being said, it's got a link to the two Twitch Abridged videos and both the basic and polished example files. So I hope it's at least a bit useful.

Secondly, I am making good progress with porting the new dialogue and NPC code into my game. Though it did make me realise that having several different dialogue systems in one file was a terrible idea. Deep down I already knew this, but didn't want to admit it due to my fear of JSON. This means that I've re-worked the game's signposts and the item pickup events to now use the JSON dialogue system. It's almost there, I just need to make the controls a little more fluid in some places. There are a few rogue button-presses that crop up for example.

This does mean I can FINALLY start on the next tutorial in the JSON series, now that I have more of an understanding of my own system. (And it doesn't terrify me anymore.) I am hoping to have that done by this time next week, but that will depend on how easy it is to write about. We'll see.

Anyway, stay safe guys and I'll be back with another post next week!
